Navigating success and overcoming obstacles

With over 32 years of experience in the marketing industry, including 11 years as a business owner, I’ve learned to recognize harmful behaviors that can hinder success in the creative and eco-friendly sectors.

For the most part, I can even recognize it in myself now more than ever because I’m fully committed to myself, my business and helping eco creatives and brands thrive so that we can exponentially create a kinder, healthier and more abundant world for all life on Earth.

That full commitment means getting out of my head!

If you’re just starting out as a freelancer, you’ll soon learn that personal development is a huge part of your journey, and so, if you want to be successful, you’ll also want to get out of your head.

In this article series, I’ll help you identify and conquer four obstacles, unlocking your true potential in the freelancing world.

Four excuses keeping you from achieving success

Ever said any one of these regarding getting help for your business, be it hiring someone to help you with a task in your business, or hiring a coach to help you move forward?

We’ve all encountered these objections at some point — they seem like an easy way out, allowing us to avoid taking responsibility.

However, are they truly insurmountable obstacles that can’t be overcome?

The Scenario

You hopped on a consulting call to get help with something in your business, or you’ve subscribed to a newsletter or signed up for a webinar because you need help with a particular topic.

And now, you’ve been presented the offer.

If you’re surprised that there is an offer, then just know that if the person on the other end is doing their job correctly, this will happen every single time.

And if you’re having discovery calls with your potential clients, I sure hope you pitch your offer to those who are a good fit, too! That’s business.

So, if you’ve been presented an offer that you genuinely believe will help you move forward and you’ve used any of those four excuses above, I want to tell you a secret: It’s never about the money, or the time.

There’s always something else that’s stopping you from getting the help you so desperately need.

I enrolled in my first online course in 2016, three years after I started freelancing and hired my first coach in 2017, another year later.

Which means, I basically wasted the first three years of my self-employment trying to figure out how to run a business on my own.

I don’t want you to do the same, that’s why I’m writing so that you can be more confident in taking action if you need help!
